My Air Conditioner is Not Cooling
Common Problems for Tractor A/C Systems
Cool But Not Cold
If the air conditioning is set to max cool and fans on high, but is only blowing moderately cool air:
- Check to see that the cooling fans on the condenser or radiator are running when the air conditioning is on.
- Look for any restrictions like leaves, bugs or dirt that would keep air from passing over the condenser.
- Check the cabin air filter to ensure that it is not clogged.
- Check the pressures in the system using a manifold gauge set. The recommended high-side and low-side pressures can be found in the repair manual.
Compressor
When diagnosing an air conditioning issue, it's easiest to begin at the compressor.
- With the engine running turn the A/C on max cool, set fans high, and make sure that the clutch is engaging on the compressor. If the clutch is not engaging, use a voltmeter to check for voltage getting to the compressor. If there is voltage - the clutch may be bad.If there is no voltage - a cycling switch may be bad, a fuse may be blown and the system may not have enough refrigerant pressure to trip the low pressure cutoff switch that cycles the compressor.
- Note: this is not the pulley, but the center piece that engages the pulley to the compressor shaft. If the clutch is engaging and disengaging rapidly, the refrigerant may be low.
Leaks
Leaks are the most common problem associated with the air conditioning system.
If pressure is low, then there may be a leak.
- Using a UV A/C leak detection kit is the easiest way to find a leak.
- Check around all fittings to verify that they are all secure.
- Check hose manifolds on the compressor.
- Check the front seal and the o-rings sealing the pressure switches on the back of some compressors.
- Check where the hoses are crimped onto the fittings.
- Check the valves.
- Check for pin holes in the condenser.
- Check where the evaporator drains condensation with UV light. Sometimes oil or dye can be seen. Note: The dye check will not work if the system is too low and the compressor is not cycling.
Bad smells and odors coming from the air conditioning
Air Conditioners are prone to a build-up of bacteria, mold, fungus and other micro organisms. These generally build up behind the dash near or on the evaporator panel causing nasty smells every time your air conditioner is turned on.
We recommend using a cleaning and anti-bacterial treatment to eradicate these micro organisms and leave your car / truck / tractor smelling fresh and clean.
Do you get a pool of water under your tractor when you use your air conditioner?
This has been a concern of many clients who have called us over the years thinking that their tractor or their a/c system has developed a leak. The puddle of water you see under your car is water dripping from your car air conditioner’s evaporator via a drain tube. This is perfectly normal and not a cause for concern.
Excessive moisture inside the cabin when the air conditioning is on?
In the event that the drain tube blocks for any reason the result is often a build-up of moisture inside the tractor. This could lead to damp carpets, smells and wiring damage if left unserviced.
Regular Air Conditioning Service
Your air conditioning system is a series of machinery, pipes and filters which needs regular servicing much like your tractor’s engine. We recommend an annual service to ensure the efficiency and cleanliness of your tractor’s air conditioning.

sales tax info
I'm a farmer, why do I have to pay sales tax?
There's a lot of new laws concerning sales tax.
Over the past year, there have been changes to the sales tax laws in most states. The biggest change is that most online purchases are now taxable. Since most of the products All States Ag Parts sells are exempt when used for farming, we thought we'd let you know how you can remain tax-exempt when ordering on our website. Here's some information to help keep you exempt from sales tax.
I'm a farmer, I thought I didn't have to pay sales tax on farming equipment.
You're correct! You don't! Most products sold by All States Ag Parts are exempt from sales tax when they are purchased for use in agricultural operations. Products that qualify for sales tax exemptions vary by state, with Alabama and South Dakota being notable exceptions to sales tax exemptions on ag machinery and parts.
I haven't paid sales tax on previous purchases, why the change?
In 2018, the Supreme Court ruled that states can require remote sellers to collect and remit sales tax on purchases being shipped into the state. All sellers are collecting and remitting sales tax on internet orders
How do I file for tax-exempt status with All States Ag Parts?
It's easy. We just need to have a completed Sales Tax Exemption certificate on file for you or your company. Complete the certificate online (instructions below) and you immediately become tax exempt on qualifying products. Really, it doesn't take long!
To register a sales tax exemption certificate online.
1. Click here
2. Log In or create an account.
3. The tax exemption form will open automatically. It will be blank if you do not have a certificate on file. If you have a certificate already on file, the information will be displayed.
4. Complete the certificate. (Note: Texas residents are required to include their exemption number. This is optional for residents of other states.)
5. Sign the document using your cursor as a pen.
6. Submit the certificate.
By submitting your certificate, you then become tax exempt on eligible products. This is why buying parts from us, as opposed to a big online retailer, is beneficial; you won't be able to do that with a large site like Amazon. We are always here to serve you, in any way we can, especially when it comes to saving you money!
