Hay Baler Maintenance Tips

  • Clean and lubricate the baler based on the operatorís manual specifications.
  • Check belt length. If belts have become unequal in length, they need to be resized so they donít fail prematurely.
  • Inspect your lacing (if your baler has laced belts). Lacing pins should be inspected every 800 to 1000 bales.
  • Check the chain length. At only 3% length extension, the chain should be replaced to avoid a sudden failure.
